Upcoming ARNOVA Conference Panel

This year’s Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA) conference will be held virtually. In response to the effects of the pandemic on higher education and job prospects for emerging scholars in the field, the Early Scholars and Pracademics sections recruited a number of Ph.D. alumni from programs nationally to speak to Ph.D. students on how to pursue non-academic or pracademic-focused careers.

Brittany Kienker, Principal and Owner of Kienker Consulting, is excited to be serving as one off the live panelists for the Early Scholars/Pracademics Colloquium, entitled, “Chatting with Professionals: Prac- and Non-Academic Career Opportunities” on November 12th at 3:15pm. She is also featured as one of the pre-recorded interviewees for this session.

The full description of the session is included below:

“Higher education has historically struggled to provide quality career opportunities for PhD recipients, which is especially true in these uncertain times. Join a panel of professionals who have pursued research careers entirely outside of academia or through non-academic research within universities to explore your options for future success. This professional development opportunity for doctoral candidates and early career PhDs is organized by Early Scholars Section in partnership with the Pracademics section. Panelists will include practitioners who work as consultants or program leaders at think tanks, NGOs or foundations.”
